We are Nate and Kristen Duncan, the humans behind NJDuncan Photography.
our story
We met January 2020 right before the pandemic.. on Bumble of all places! On our very first date, Nate expressed that he dreamed of being able to photograph weddings with his wife one day. Fast forward to March 2023, we wed micro wedding style in Joshua Tree National Park. We absolutely love doing life together and even more so, getting to work together!
In our personal time, we enjoy long walks with our mini golden doodle Poppy, road trips, live music, hiking and camping!
We are true-to-color, documentary-focused photographers who love capturing every moment of your wedding day in a creative and authentic way. Although we are experts in posing when needed, we believe the best photos happen when our couples are fully in the moment. We prioritize helping couples spend more time enjoying their day, while still getting all the must-have photos. With us, your wedding gallery will have a great mix of beautiful portraits and plenty of candids to truly document your unique love story.
about kristen
Kristen started her career in the world of Fashion and received her degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising. As a side hustle in college, she started photographing portrait sessions and fashion merchandise and quickly fell in love with photography. After meeting Nate, her eyes were opened to the possibilities of a career in photography and the rest is history.
Kristen specializes in weddings, merchandise, seniors, maternity, newborns and family photography. She has a special way with kids and making everybody feel at ease.
Kristen’s natural eye for all things design allows her to photograph her subjects with intentionality, perfectly executing her vision.
about nate
Nate has been in the photography world since he was 16, working his first job as a photographer’s assistant at a local photography studio. As he learned more and more about the industry, he realized that he had what it takes to make a career out of the trade he loves. After working his way up, Nate started his own Photography business in 2019.
Nate specializes in wedding photography, elopements, engagements, and adventure sessions. His approach to event days is documentary style, with an emphasis on candids and capturing organic moments.
Nate has an ultra artistic eye which translates beautifully in his work.
